Oradea 🏛️
The heart of Art Nouveau of Romania — vibrant, elegant, surprising.
Oradea is the city that has learned to value its past. After a restoration that has lasted years, the Art Nouveau and secession façades in the center shine again, side by side, in pastel colors that require you to walk with your nose up. It is a compact, elegant and surprisingly relaxing city, located on the banks of Crișul Repede, just a quarter of an hour from the border with Hungary.
The center can be visited almost entirely on foot. The Union Square and Ferdinand Square are connected to the Republic Walk, a palace hall with terraces and specialty cafes. On the way you will encounter the Black Eagle Palace with its covered passage, over the Church with the Moon and its unique mechanism in the world, and over dozens of buildings worth seeing twice.
And when you want to relax, warm water is at hand: Aquaparkul Nymphaea is right in the city, and the Spa Felix is nine kilometers away.
